Beverly Giants Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Beverly Giants watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 20-5 loss to Rowley Rams on Sunday. Rowley Rams took the lead on a in the second inning.

Rowley Rams took an early lead in the second inning. Mark Berkland's sac fly scored two runs for Rowley RamsBeverly Giants scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Conor Walsh , a walk by Anthony Morrissey , a single by Gavin Sparkman , and a fielder's choice by Sean Martin.

Rowley Rams scored nine runs in the third inning. Rowley Rams's big inning was driven by a single by Esposito, a single by Berkland, a fielder's choice by Dylan Copeland, a fielder's choice by Dimitri Hunt, a single by Colby Ingraham, and a single by Justin Bolla.

Jake Barressi earned the win for Rowley Rams. He threw four innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out five. Martin took the loss for Beverly Giants. He tossed one and one-third innings, giving up six runs, and two hits.

Joe Martin started the game for Rowley Rams. He pitched three innings, surrendering five runs, eight hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Beverly Giants had nine hits in the game. Sparkman and Luke McDonald each collected multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Sparkman led Beverly Giants with two runs batted in. He went 3-for-4 on the day.
Rowley Rams collected 14 hits. Ingraham, Hunt, Esposito, and Bolla each collected multiple hits for Rowley Rams. Bolla went 2-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with four runs batted in.

Man./Essex Mariners Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Ipswich Chiefs


Man./Essex Mariners defeated Ipswich Chiefs 3-1 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at zero with Man./Essex Mariners batting in the bottom of the fifth when.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Man./Essex Mariners pitchers struck out 16, while hurlers for Ipswich Chiefs sat down four.  Rusty Tucker earned the win for Man./Essex Mariners. He pitched five innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, and striking out 14. Two relievers helped Man./Essex Mariners close out the victory. Bartlet threw one inning. Joe Perna took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He threw, allowing three runs, and zero hits.

Jake Greaney started the game for Ipswich Chiefs. He threw four innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, and striking out one. Alex Ray, Tucker, and Cole Josselyn each collected one hit to lead Man./Essex Mariners. Man./Essex Mariners didn't commit a single error in the field. Dom Cirone had the most chances in the field with 13.

Chas Rousseau led Ipswich Chiefs with one hit in three at bats. Ipswich Chiefs was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. John Prentiss made the most plays with six.

 Beverly Giants Pitches Well, but Can't Find Enough Runs in Loss to Topsfield Tories

Both teams were strong on the mound on Sunday, but Topsfield Tories was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Beverly Giants on Sunday. Sean Martin started the game for Beverly Giants and recorded six outs.

Matt Nolfi earned the win for Topsfield Tories. He went five innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, and striking out four. Tim Bransfield recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Topsfield Tories. Eric Messina took the loss for Beverly Giants. He pitched two innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out one.

Sean Martin started the game for Beverly Giants. He pitched two innings, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, and striking out two. Andy Brown and Andrew Terista all had one hit to lead Beverly Giants.
