Connor Sullivan got the game winning hit in the bottom of the 7th to break the tie and get the Generals the victory. Mike Drinkwater went 7 strong to earn the win. McCarthy went the distance for the Tories but was the tough luck loser.
The Generals struck first with 3 runs in the first inning. The Generals started the game with 4 straight hits. Provost got a 2-RBI double and was brought home on a Stewart RBI single. The Tories struck back with 2 in the top of the 2nd to cut the lead to one. Gallugi's sac-fly brought in Lobbell which was followed by a Riordan RBI single.
In the third the Generals were able to extend the lead to 2 by adding another run. Vitale brought home Provost on a fielder's choice. The lead did not last long as the Tories tied the game in the top of the 4th. McCarthy and Hittinger both scored on a few General miscues in the field. The Game stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh as Drinkwater only allowed two baserunners and recorded 5 k's over the final 3 innings.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Generals got it going right away. Maidment led off the inning with his second HBP of the game. After a pop out, Funchion and Provost worked back-to-back walks, loading the bases with only one out. With Sullivan up, he was able to hit a 2-2 pitch up the middle. While a diving stop, with the infield drawn in, kept the ball in the infield there was no play anywhere and the Generals were able to score the winning run.
