Generals Sweep Doubleheader in Rockport

Game 1
Rockport Townies fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 3-2 loss to Hamilton Generals on Sunday. Hamilton Generals took the lead on a home run in the first inning. 


The pitching was strong on both sides. Hamilton Generals pitchers struck out eight, while Rockport Townies sat down three. Hamilton Generals got things started in the first inning. Hunter Willochoski drove in two when Willochoski homered. 


Paul Horgan was the winning pitcher for Hamilton Generals. Horgan lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out eight. 


Mackenzie Quinn took the loss for Rockport Townies. The righty lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out two and walking zero. 


Joe Muzio, Alex Webb, Nate Ferriero, and Brett Bouchie each collected one hit to lead Rockport Townies.
Harrison O'Brien went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hamilton Generals in hits.



Game 2
Rockport Townies Pitches Well, But Can't Find Enough Runs in Loss to Hamilton Generals


Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound on Sunday, but Hamilton Generals was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Rockport Townies on Sunday. Derick MacDowell started the game for Rockport Townies and recorded 21 outs. 


Rockport Townies lost despite out-hitting Hamilton Generals four to three.  Phil Durgin led the Hamilton Generals to victory on the mound. Durgin went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out six and walking one. 


MacDowell took the loss for Rockport Townies. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six. Zach Morris led Rockport Townies with two hits in three at bats. Rockport Townies was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Keady Segel made the most plays with six.
