Man./Essex Mariners Can't Catch Up To Hamilton Generals

Man./Essex Mariners fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-2 loss to Hamilton Generals on Tuesday. Hamilton Generals scored on a double by Hunter Willochoski in the first inning, a single by Harrison O'Brien in the first inning, a single by Paul Horgan in the second inning, a single by Will Frain in the second inning, a double by Ryan Hutchinson in the second inning, and a double by Keegan O’Shea in the second inning. 


The Man./Essex Mariners struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hamilton Generals, giving up 12 runs. Hamilton Generals got things started in the first inning. Willochoski drove in one when Willochoski doubled.  Hamilton Generals scored six runs in the second inning. Horgan, Frain, Hutchinson, and O’Shea each drove in runs during the inning. 


Luke Mclintock was the winning pitcher for Hamilton Generals. Mclintock went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking one. Jake Lanciani and O'Brien entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
 

Dylan Wilson took the loss for Man./Essex Mariners. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits.  James McKenna went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Man./Essex Mariners in hits. Man./Essex Mariners didn't commit a single error in the field. EJ Field had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.  Hamilton Generals tallied 19 hits. Frain, Lanciani, O'Brien, Horgan, and Willochoski all collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Frain led Hamilton Generals with four hits in five at bats.
