Hamilton 8, Topsfield 6

Generals sweep with 8-6 win over Tories.  Topsfield Tories Can't Quite Erase 8-Run Deficit in Loss to Hamilton Generals.


Topsfield Tories's effort to come back from down eight runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Hamilton Generals on Friday. Topsfield Tories managed six runs in the failed comeback.  Andrew Heath, Tom Cadmus, Cadmus, and James Berti came through with RBIs to lead the rally.
 

Topsfield Tories fell behind early in the loss. Hamilton Generals scored on a single by Luke Painchaud in the first inning, a single by Will Frain in the second inning, and a home run by Hunter Willochoski in the second inning. 


In the first inning, Hamilton Generals got their offense started when Topsfield Tories notched three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Topsfield Tories was led by Cadmus and Berti, who all drove in runs.  Painchaud earned the win for Hamilton Generals. Painchaud surrendered six runs on nine hits over six innings, walking zero. Willochoski threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Willochoski recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hamilton Generals.

 
Zack Lamkin took the loss for Topsfield Tories. The hurler surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out five.  Topsfield Tories collected nine hits on the day. Will Twiss, Heath, Cadmus, and Matt Lessard all managed multiple hits for Topsfield Tories. Lessard, Cadmus, Heath, and Twiss all had two hits to lead Topsfield Tories. 


Hamilton Generals racked up 12 hits. Harrison O'Brien, Paul Horgan, Keegan O’Shea, and Frain each racked up multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. O'Brien led Hamilton Generals with three hits in four at bats.
