Despite Strong Fight, Ipswich Chiefs Can't Top Beverly Giants

Despite a 9-run deficit in the second inning, Ipswich Chiefs almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-8 to Beverly Giants on Friday. Ipswich Chiefs tallied seven runs in the failed comeback. Eric Gongas, Parker Jennings, Bobby Grady, John Mcnaught, Josh O’brien, and John O’Brien each picked up RBIs. 

Ipswich Chiefs fell behind early in the loss. Beverly Giants scored on a double by Luke McDonald in the first inning, a single by Brady McGrath in the first inning, a walk by Sean Martin in the first inning, a single by Kevin Harutunian in the first inning, a single by Andy Brown in the first inning, and a double by Josh Levesque in the second inning. 

Beverly Giants got things moving in the first inning. McDonald drove in one when McDonald doubled.
Ipswich Chiefs scored four runs in the seventh inning. O’brien, O’Brien, and Grady each had RBIs in the frame. 

Brown was the winning pitcher for Beverly Giants. Brown surrendered three runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. McGrath and Levesque entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Gongas took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. The pitcher went one inning, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out one. 

Ipswich Chiefs racked up 11 hits on the day. O’Brien, Andrew Mcfarland, and Jennings all managed multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. O’Brien led Ipswich Chiefs with three hits in four at bats. Ipswich Chiefs didn't commit a single error in the field. O’Brien had six chances in the field, the most on the team. Beverly Giants tallied 11 hits on the day. McGrath, McDonald, and Brown each had multiple hits for Beverly Giants. McGrath went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Beverly Giants in hits.

Generals sweep with 8-6 win over Tories.  Topsfield Tories Can't Quite Erase 8-Run Deficit in Loss to Hamilton Generals.

Topsfield Tories's effort to come back from down eight runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Hamilton Generals on Friday. Topsfield Tories managed six runs in the failed comeback.  Andrew Heath, Tom Cadmus, Cadmus, and James Berti came through with RBIs to lead the rally.
 

Topsfield Tories fell behind early in the loss. Hamilton Generals scored on a single by Luke Painchaud in the first inning, a single by Will Frain in the second inning, and a home run by Hunter Willochoski in the second inning. 

In the first inning, Hamilton Generals got their offense started when Topsfield Tories notched three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Topsfield Tories was led by Cadmus and Berti, who all drove in runs.  Painchaud earned the win for Hamilton Generals. Painchaud surrendered six runs on nine hits over six innings, walking zero. Willochoski threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Willochoski recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hamilton Generals.

 
Zack Lamkin took the loss for Topsfield Tories. The hurler surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out five.  Topsfield Tories collected nine hits on the day. Will Twiss, Heath, Cadmus, and Matt Lessard all managed multiple hits for Topsfield Tories. Lessard, Cadmus, Heath, and Twiss all had two hits to lead Topsfield Tories. 

Hamilton Generals racked up 12 hits. Harrison O'Brien, Paul Horgan, Keegan O’Shea, and Frain each racked up multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. O'Brien led Hamilton Generals with three hits in four at bats.

Two Hamilton Generals Pitchers Combine to Defeat Topsfield Tories in Shutout Game

Hamilton Generals defeated Topsfield Tories 16-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Mark Roselli struck out James Berti to finish off the game.  Hamilton Generals was boosted by Hunter Willochoski who went 4-for-5 at the plate. Willochoski singled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. 

In the first inning, Hamilton Generals got their offense started. Chris Huggett drove in one when Huggett singled.  A single by Andrew Heath in the second inning was a positive for Topsfield Tories. 

Sal Guarino was credited with the victory for Hamilton Generals. The ace surrendered zero runs on four hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero. Roselli threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Andrew Cavanaugh took the loss for Topsfield Tories. The bulldog allowed 13 hits and 13 runs over five innings, striking out four.

Hamilton Generals smacked one home run on the day. Willochoski went for the long ball in the fifth inning.  Hamilton Generals tallied 18 hits. Larry Saggese, Willochoski, Huggett, Bryan Vitale, and Paul Horgan each collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Willochoski and Saggese all had four hits to lead Hamilton Generals.

Dylan Wilson held the Rams to 3 hits last night in Rowley, throwing a complete game shutout to lead the Mariners to a 2 to 0 victory. He also chipped in the only RBI on a first inning double.

Rowley Rams watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 2-0 loss to Man./Essex Mariners on Wednesday. Man./Essex Mariners took the lead on a double in the first inning.  The pitching was strong on both sides. Man./Essex Mariners pitchers struck out seven, while Rowley Rams sat down five. 

Man./Essex Mariners opened up scoring in the first inning, when Dylan Wilson doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  One bright spot for Rowley Rams was a single by Joe White in the second inning. Wilson was the winning pitcher for Man./Essex Mariners. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out seven.  Dylan Copeland took the loss for Rowley Rams. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out five. 

Dimitri Hunt, James Wood, and White all had one hit to lead Rowley Rams.  James McKenna led Man./Essex Mariners with two hits in three at bats.

Ipswich Chiefs Defeats Rockport Townies in Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the mound Monday, but Ipswich Chiefs defeated Rockport Townies 3-2. Jake Greaney allowed just five hits to Rockport Townies.  In the first inning, Rockport Townies got their offense started. Alex Webb grounded out, scoring one run. 

Rockport Townies evened things up at two in the top of the fifth inning. Jack Sperry drove in one when Sperry doubled.  Ipswich Chiefs pulled away for good with zero runs in the fifth inning.  Greaney led the Ipswich Chiefs to victory on the hill. Greaney lasted nine innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six. 

Derick MacDowell took the loss for Rockport Townies. MacDowell lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three.  Sperry started the game for Rockport Townies. The lefthander lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out six.
 

Ipswich Chiefs totaled nine hits in the game. Eric Gongas and John O’Brien each had multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Gongas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits.  Rockport Townies didn't commit a single error in the field. Keady Segel had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Early Lead For Hamilton Generals Seals Fate For Beverly Giants

Beverly Giants fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-2 loss to Hamilton Generals on Sunday. Hamilton Generals scored on a walk by Hunter Willochoski in the second inning and a single by Keegan O’Shea in the second inning.

Hamilton Generals scored three runs in the fourth inning. Hamilton Generals big bats were led by Paul Horgan, O’Shea, and McKenna, all driving in runs in the inning. 

Phil Durgin got the win for Hamilton Generals. The righthander allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six.  Horgan started the game for Hamilton Generals. The hurler surrendered zero runs on two hits over two innings, striking out four and walking one.

Beverly Giants saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Brad Petipas and Andy Brown all managed multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Brown and Petipas all had two hits to lead Beverly Giants.

Topsfield Tories Struggles to Find Groove Against Man./Essex Mariners

Topsfield Tories had trouble keeping up with Man./Essex Mariners in a 12-3 loss on Friday.   Man./Essex Mariners opened up scoring in the first inning, when Emmanuel Morrata doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

Man./Essex Mariners pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Luis Reyes singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, EJ Field doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Marcus Montignino homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
 

Ryan Marques pitched Man./Essex Mariners to victory. The bulldog surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Corey McCollum threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. 

Tom Cadmus took the loss for Topsfield Tories. The bulldog allowed 13 hits and 11 runs over four innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Hamilton Generals easily did away with Ipswich Chiefs 19-3 on Thursday.  Hamilton Generals opened up scoring in the first inning. Carter Coffey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. 

Hamilton Generals tallied six runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to doubles by Hunter Willochoski and Trevor Lyons, a walk by Cam Vatour, and by Keegan O’Shea. 

Luke Painchaud got the win for Hamilton Generals. Painchaud lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero. Tim O’Leary threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Sam Blizard took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. Blizard surrendered 11 runs on ten hits over five innings, striking out two.

Tucker led Man./Essex Mariners to victory by driving in four runs.  Tucker went 3-for-3 at the plate.  Tucker drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a single in the fifth.

Man./Essex Mariners notched seven runs in the fifth inning.  The rally was led by singles by Luis Reyes, Marcus Montignino, and Tucker, a home run by Bennett O'Leary, and a fielder's choice by Field.

One bright spot for Topsfield Tories was a single by Tom Cadmus in the fourth inning.

Ipswich Chiefs Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Ipswich Chiefs fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-4 loss to Hamilton Generals on Monday. Hamilton Generals took the lead on a stolen base in the first inning.  The Ipswich Chiefs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hamilton Generals, giving up 11 runs. 

In the first inning, Hamilton Generals got their offense started. Hamilton Generals scored on a stolen base during Carter Coffey's at bat. Then Coffey singled.  Ipswich Chiefs tallied three runs in the third inning. John O’Brien had an RBI ground-out in the inning to lead the run scoring. 

Hamilton Generals scored five runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Hamilton Generals was led by Paul Horgan, Harrison O'Brien, Coffey, Keegan O’Shea, and Neil Simmons, all driving in runs in the frame.  Mark Roselli got the win for Hamilton Generals. Finn Maclennan took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. The hurler went two and a third innings, allowing nine runs on three hits and striking out five.   Evan Stein went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits.
Horgan led Hamilton Generals with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

 Kellen Field picked up the win going 4 strong innings. Beverly climbed back after being down 7-0 but M/E held on for a 10-9 victory.

Hamilton Generals Claims Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Rowley Rams

Hamilton Generals ran off with the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Rowley Rams on Thursday.  The game was tied at two with Hamilton Generals batting in the bottom of the sixth when Dave Ingraham's wild pitch allowed one run to score for Hamilton Generals.
 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Hamilton Generals pitchers struck out six, while Rowley Rams pitchers sat down nine. Rowley Rams fired up the offense in the second inning, when CJ Ingraham singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

Jake Lanciani earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Hamilton Generals. The hurler went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero.  Ingraham took the loss for Rowley Rams. The hurler allowed two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Paul Horgan started the game for Hamilton Generals. The fireballer surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five.  Harrison O'Brien and Ian Coffey each managed one hit to lead Hamilton Generals. Hamilton Generals stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Lanciani led the way with four.  Ingraham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Rowley Rams in hits.
