Townies Over Generals, 13-5
Both starting pitchers did well, allowing only one run apiece, both in the first inning. Judd Funchion got the start for the Generals and went 3 strong innings. The Townies erupted for 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth breaking the 1-1 tie. Brock Currier and Ayer produced back to back 2-RBI singles, which was then followed by a 2-run HR by Greel. Anderson and Robertson also added RBI's in the inning. In the fifth the Townies added 4 more to seal the game. Sharon had an RBI double and Brent Currier had a 2-RBI single.
The Generals put 4 on the board in the sixth but that was as close as they could get. The two teams meet again this Thursday at Patton Park. 5:45pm start.

Mike was the ace on a tremendous pitching staff, including 2008 Pitcher of Year Steve Stout (6-1 in 2009). When we needed a victory Gibbon was always ready. Unquestionable MVP of the Playoffs going 3-0, including 2-0 in the Championship Series.
