Rowley wins 12-5 over Topsfield

Mariners 2 Chiefs 1

Manchester (9-2) pulled out a 2 to 1 win in Ipswich (3-9) yesterday. Ian Buckley had 2 hits for the Mariners and Cole Josselyn had an RBI single.

Mariners pitcher Peter Clark got out of a bases loaded situation with no outs in the bottom of the 6th by striking out the side in order. He picked up the win in relief.

Will Corkum was the tough luck loser for the Chiefs, only surrendering 1 earned run in 7 innings.

Rowley - 7, Beverly - 0

Tim Moore's pitching leads the ITL Rowley Rams past the Beverly Giants 7-0

The Beverly Giants weren't able to score a run off of Tim Moore during his six innings on the bump and the Rowley Rams took home the win, 7-0.

Tim Moore struck out seven and allowed five walks and three hits.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Rams in the second. The Rams' bats caught fire leading to four runs. Rowley scored in the second on a hit by pitch, a bases loaded walk by Frankie Messina, a walk by Marco Luisi, and a walk by Wells.

Messina took the loss for the Giants. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked six and struck out two.

The  Rams went up for good in the first, scoring three runs on an RBI single by Jordon Silva.

Mariners 5 Generals 1

The Manchester/Essex Mariners escape ITL Hamilton Generals behind Rusty Tucker's 15 strikeouts, 5-1

An exceptional effort by Rusty Tucker carried the Manchester/Essex Mariners to a 5-1 win in seven innings over ITL Hamilton Generals on Thursday at Patton Park 43 Asbury St, MA 01982.
Tucker baffled ITL Hamilton Generals, striking out 15 batters. The Manchester/Essex Mariners' pitcher tossed six innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit.

Mike Cain did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Manchester/Essex Mariners, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.

The game's last lead went to the Manchester/Essex Mariners thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an error.  The seventh inning saw ITL Hamilton Generals score its only run on the day on an RBI double by Cam Borrelli.

Beverly - 6, Topsfield - 2

Early lead not enough for ITL Topsfield Tories, drop 6-2 decision to the Beverly Giants

The Topsfield Tories jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-2 to the Beverly Giants on Wednesday.

While Topsfield led until the fourth inning, the Beverly Giants worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Scott Caradonna.

Dan Cashman looked sharp on the rubber. The Tories managed just three hits off of Cashman, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out four during his 5 1/3 innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for Topsfield's Andrew Heath. Andrew Heath went 2-3 and scored one run. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Zack Lamkin was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out seven.

The top of the first saw the Beverly Giants take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Josh Levesque, bringing home Conor Walsh started the scoring.

The Tories tied the game in the second on a passed ball that scored Andrew Heath.

The game was never in doubt after the fourth, as the Beverly Giants scored four runs on a fielder's choice and two singles.

Ipswich - 7, Beverly - 3

The Beverly Giants outdone by Andy Knox and ITL Ipswich Chiefs, 7-3

Andy Knox had three RBIs, helping the Ipswich Chiefs to a 7-3 victory over the Beverly Giants on Friday at Linebrook Field.  He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Will Corkum's seven strikeouts were enough to push Ipswich past Beverly. Corkum allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk over seven innings.

Andy Brown racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Beverly Giants. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Josh Levesque ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

The lead stayed with Ipswich after the first, when it scored one run on an RBI single by Dylan Cain.

The Chiefs added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Knox's double got things going, bringing home Ahmad Ateyat and Jake Greaney. That was followed up by Nathan Frongillo's single, plating Knox.

It didn't take long for the Chiefs to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the fifth. Ipswich scored on an RBI single by Ateyat and a fielder's choice.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped the Giants close their deficit to 7-3. An RBI double by Kevin Harutunian and an RBI single by Brown triggered the Beverly Giants' comeback. The Giants' Conor Walsh flew out to end the ballgame.

Rams Return Favor, 2-1 over Mariners

The ITL Rowley Rams make the most of 4 hits in 2-1 victory over the Manchester/Essex Mariners

The ITL Rowley Rams and the Manchester/Essex Mariners both threatened with rallies, but it was the ITL Rowley Rams that eventually took advantage of them in a 2-1 win at 435 Haverhill St. Rowley MA.

The Manchester/Essex Mariners got eight hits compared with just four for the ITL Rowley Rams, but the Manchester/Essex Mariners stranded eight on base.  The fact that the ITL Rowley Rams grouped all of their runs into the seventh inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Ryan Marques was a workhorse on the rubber for the Manchester/Essex Mariners. Marques pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out three.  Jeff Moore got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He pitched one shutout inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Marques was the game's losing pitcher.  The Manchester/Essex Mariners scored their only run of the game on an RBI single by Rory Gentile in the fifth inning.

The Manchester/Essex Mariners didn't provide Rory Gentile with much support, but he didn't need much. Gentile pitched seven strong innings to carry the Manchester/Essex Mariners to a 2-1 win over the ITL Rowley Rams in seven innings on Tuesday at Shepard Memorial Dr. Essex MA.
Caulin Rogers got on base three times in the game for the Manchester/Essex Mariners.
Tim Moore was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The ITL Rowley Rams' lone run of the ballgame came in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Colby Ingraham.
The Manchester/Essex Mariners quickly matched the ITL Rowley Rams' strong inning with a one-run inning of their own in the fourth. The Manchester/Essex Mariners scored on an RBI single by Rusty Tucker.
The Manchester/Essex Mariners went up for good in the fifth, scoring one run on an RBI single by Gentile.

Beverly - 5, Hamilton - 4

The Beverly Giants make the most of 5 hits in 5-4 victory over ITL Hamilton Generals

Both the Beverly Giants and ITL Hamilton Generals put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Beverly Giants that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at Patton Park.

ITL Hamilton Generals got six hits compared with just five for the Beverly Giants, but ITL Hamilton Generals stranded 10 on base.

The Beverly Giants held off ITL Hamilton Generals, as ITL Hamilton Generals was unable to overcome a five-run fifth inning deficit.

ITL Hamilton Generals scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Matt Greeke, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Luke Painchaud. Despite its efforts, ITL Hamilton Generals couldn't get over the hump.  In the 7th inning, a relay from Luke McDonald to Kevin Harutunian to Conor Walsh cut the tying run down at the plate.

Andy Brown racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Beverly Giants. He doubled in the fifth inning.

Frankie Messina had an impressive outing against ITL Hamilton Generals' lineup. ITL Hamilton Generals managed just two hits off of Messina, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Cam Charette took the loss for ITL Hamilton Generals. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The Beverly Giants didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when they scored on a sacrifice fly by Brown.

The Beverly Giants added four more runs in the top of the fifth. A error scored Messina to get the Beverly Giants on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Brown's double, scoring Patrick Wilson and David Drinkwater.

The Beverly Giants outdone byJustin Bolla and the ITL Rowley Rams, 7-2

Justin Bolla had four RBIs, sparking the ITL Rowley Rams to a 7-2 victory in seven innings over the Beverly Giants on Sunday at Cooney Field.  He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

Ryan Kucher struck out six hitters en route to the the ITL Rowley Rams win. The ITL Rowley Rams' pitcher gave up just three hits over five shutout innings.

Dan Cashman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out five.

The Rams never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on a three-run home run by Justin Bolla.

The Rams added three more runs in the top of the sixth. Drew Carter singled, plating Colin Sitarz to start the inning.

A two-run seventh inning helped bring the Beverly Giants within five. A groundout by John Boyle and an error sparked the Beverly Giants' rally. The Beverly Giants' Andy Brown flew out to end the ballgame.

Rockport once again received a strong pitching effort. This time by Drew Shairs. The big lefty bent but never broke keeping the Chiefs hitters off balance.  Brian Lentz led the way with a solo home run and a two run single.

Hamilton 1 Ipswich 0

Hamilton Generals edged Ipswich 1-0 in 8 innings on Thursday night at Patton.  Jack Clay went the distance to pick up the win and shutout.

Sean Martin's pitching leads the Beverly Giants past ITL Rockport Townies 3-0
 
ITL Rockport Townies wasn't able to score a run off of Sean Martin during his seven innings on the hill and the Beverly Giants took home the win, 3-0.
 
Martin struck out four and allowed three walks and five hits.
 
Kevin Harutunian helped the Beverly Giants pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. After Scott Caradonna walked, Harutunian came to the plate with the game scoreless in the seventh inning and doubled, scoring Caradonna.  Harutunian reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI.

Tyler Favaloro took the loss for ITL Rockport Townies. He lasted just six innings, walked six, struck out five, and allowed three runs.

ITL Topsfield Tories falls 10-0 at the hands of the Manchester/Essex Mariners

The Manchester/Essex Mariners beat ITL Topsfield Tories on Friday 10-0 at Proctor School 60 Main st topsfield ma in seven innings.

The Manchester/Essex Mariners scored four runs in the fourth on the Manchester/Essex Mariners scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Mike Cain, a two-run single by Rory Gentile, and a wild pitch.

Mike Cain racked up four RBIs on five hits for the Manchester/Essex Mariners.

Generals 4, Chiefs 5

ITL Hamilton Generals get on top of ITL Ipswich Chiefs early but can't hang on in 5-4 loss

ITL Hamilton Generals jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 5-4 to ITL Ipswich Chiefs on Monday.

ITL Ipswich Chiefs took the lead in the fourth inning on a wild pitch. It was a good day at the plate for ITL Ipswich Chiefs' Andy Knox. Knox went 1-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He tripled in the fourth inning. Wills shut down ITL Hamilton Generals while he was on the rubber. Wills gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 4 2/3 innings of work.  ITL Hamilton Generals' poor play in the field contributed to the loss. ITL Hamilton Generals gave up three unearned runs while committing six errors over the course of the game.

Greg Doucette got the win for ITL Ipswich Chiefs. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. Doucette struck out one, walked two and gave up one hit.  Larry Torres took the loss for ITL Hamilton Generals. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The top of the first saw ITL Hamilton Generals take an early lead, 1-0. ITL Hamilton Generals got things going when Jim Love doubled. A stolen base then moved Jim Love from second to third. Jim Love then stole home.  ITL Ipswich Chiefs answered ITL Hamilton Generals' top inning with one run of its own in the first. ITL Ipswich Chiefs scored on an error.  ITL Ipswich Chiefs got two-run rallies in the second inning and the fourth. In the second, ITL Ipswich Chiefs scored on an error, scoring Nathan Frongillo.  ITL Ipswich Chiefs never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring two runs on an RBI triple by Knox.

Topsfield held off a late Mariners' rally for a 5 to 4 win last night in Essex.

Rockport 4, Rowley 1

Rockport beat Rowley 4-1.  Strong pitching from Tucker Meredith, outstanding defense, and timely hitting by Alex Webb and Conor Douglass propelled Rockport to their second win of the season.

Peter Clark held the Beverly Giants scoreless for six innings to boost the Manchester/Essex Mariners to a 9-0 victory.
Clark struck out three and allowed one walk and five hits.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Manchester/Essex Mariners to easily put away the Beverly Giants. An RBI single by Max Nesbit during the first inning and a fielder's choice in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Manchester/Essex Mariners. Rory Gentile lead off the 3rd inning with a solo homerun.
Mike Cain racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Manchester/Essex Mariners. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Ipswich picked up their first win of the season on the road in Topsfield Friday night, 7-3.

Rusty Tucker leads the Manchester/Essex Mariners to 8-2 victory thanks to 18 strikeouts

An outstanding effort by Rusty Tucker led the Manchester/Essex Mariners to an 8-2 win in seven innings over ITL Rockport Townies on Friday at Evans Field Station Sq. Rockport, MA 01966.
Tucker's 18 strikeouts helped the Manchester/Essex Mariners to the victory. Tucker allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings.

Tucker lost his perfect game in the seventh inning on a double by Jason Vizena.
A a double by Vizena in the seventh inning cost Tucker his no-hit bid.

The Manchester/Essex Mariners beat ITL Rockport Townies thanks to nine hits, including one extra base hits. The Manchester/Essex Mariners scored four runs in the fifth on the Manchester/Essex Mariners scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Rory Gentile, an RBI single by Max Nesbit, a sacrifice fly by Tucker, and an RBI single by Bryan Lafata.

Tyler Favaloro took the loss for ITL Rockport Townies. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out three.

Tories Beat Chiefs 11-6

ITL Topsfield Tories beats ITL Ipswich Chiefs 11-6

Nick Gagnon knocked in five runs as ITL Topsfield Tories took home an 11-6 victory over ITL Ipswich Chiefs in seven innings at 13 linebrook rd ipswich ma on Thursday.
He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings. ITL Ipswich Chiefs was led by Ryan Montecalvo's hitting. Montecalvo went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

ITL Topsfield Tories didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the first inning when it scored on an RBI single by Alan Nahigian.  ITL Topsfield Tories tacked on another five runs in the fifth. Zack Lamkin kicked things off with a single, scoring Erik Larsen. That was followed up by Gagnon's triple, plating Matt Nolfi, Nahigian and Lamkin.

ITL Topsfield Tories piled on four more runs in the top of the seventh. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Spencer Aguiar for the inning's first run.

A six-run seventh inning helped bring ITL Ipswich Chiefs within five. A solo home run by Montecalvo, a two-run triple by Nathan Frongillo, an RBI single by Greg Doucette, an RBI single by Chris Zaremba, and a steal of home by Doucette fueled ITL Ipswich Chiefs' comeback. But, Nolfi got Montecalvo to fly out to end the game.

The Beverly Giants third-inning burst enough to top ITL Rockport Townies, 8-0
 
The Beverly Giants beat ITL Rockport Townies 8-0 in seven innings on Wednesday at Cooney Field 90 East St, Beverly, MA 01915 after an eight-run explosion in the third inning.
 
The Beverly Giants scored in the third on an error, a sacrifice fly by John Boyle, an RBI single by Josh Levesque, an RBI single by Paul Drinkwater, an RBI single by Brian Chirco, a bases loaded walk, a walk by Eric Messina, and an RBI single by Kevin Harutunian.

ITL Rockport Townies couldn't get anything going so long as Levesque was on the hill. ITL Rockport Townies managed just two hits off of Levesque, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.

A bright spot for ITL Rockport Townies in the defeat was Drew Shairs, who allowed only zero runs while striking out six.
 
Anthony Ciaramitaro was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
