Segel Drives in Four as Rockport Townies Defeats Topsfield Tories

Four runs batted in from Keady Segel helped lead Rockport Townies past Topsfield Tories 8-3 on Sunday. Segel drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the fourth, and a double in the sixth.
Rockport Townies grabbed an early lead. Rockport Townies scored on a single by Keady Segel, a triple by Nolan Webb, and a single by Conor Ressel in the first inning. 
 
Topsfield Tories took an early lead in the first inning. Topsfield Tories scored one run when Andrew Heath singled with two outs in the first inning. 
 
Rockport Townies took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first Segel singled off of Shane Grady, driving in two runs, Webb tripled off of Grady, driving in one run, and Ressel singled off of Grady, driving in one run. 
 
Derek Osmond earned the win for Rockport Townies. He threw seven innings, surrendering three runs, eight hits, and striking out one. Grady took the loss for Topsfield Tories. He pitched six innings, surrendering eight runs, ten hits, and striking out seven. 
 
Rockport Townies had ten hits in the game. Segel, Webb, and Jordan Pallazola each collected multiple hits for Rockport Townies.

Beverly Giants Beats Ipswich Chiefs

Beverly Giants beat Ipswich Chiefs 7-2 on Sunday.  Sean Martin earned the win for Beverly Giants. He threw seven innings, giving up two runs, five hits, and striking out five. Andrew Carbone took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He pitched six innings, giving up seven runs, nine hits, and striking out one. 

Beverly Giants collected nine hits. Andrew Terista, Josh Levesque, and Paul Drinkwater each collected multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Drinkwater, Levesque, and Terista all had two hits to lead Beverly Giants.

  • Hamilton Generals Captures Lead Early To Defeat Topsfield Tories
  • Topsfield Tories fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-5 loss to Hamilton Generals on Friday. Hamilton Generals scored on a walk , a walk by Drew Taylor, a single by Larry Saggese, and a grand slam by Luke Painchaud in the first inning.
  • Hamilton Generals captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Tim Bransfield scored one run for Hamilton Generals.
  • Aaron Cohen earned the win for Hamilton Generals. He pitched five innings, giving up five runs, seven hits, striking out six, and walking one. Bransfield took the loss for Topsfield Tories. He threw five innings, allowing 13 runs, 12 hits, and striking out one.
  • Topsfield Tories collected eight hits.  Anthony Selvitella, Troy Bunker, and Zack Lamkin each collected multiple hits for Topsfield Tories.  Lamkin, Bunker, and Selvitella all had two hits to lead Topsfield Tories.  Topsfield Tories was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Alan Nahigianmade the most plays with five.

Hamilton Generals Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Topsfield Tories

Hamilton Generals jumped out to an early lead over Topsfield Tories and took home a 13-5 victory on Thursday. Hamilton Generals scored on a passed ball , a single by Luke Painchaud, and a single by Chris Huggett in the first inning. 
 
Hamilton Generals earned the victory despite allowing Topsfield Tories to score three runs in the fourth inning. Topsfield Tories's big inning was driven by a single by Nolan Rice, a single by Tom Budrewicz, and a single by Ryan Beaton.

Aaron Cohen led Hamilton Generals with three runs batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day. Brett Harring led Hamilton Generals with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.  Topsfield Tories had 12 hits in the game. Anthony Selvitella, Beaton, Budrewicz, Troy Bunker, and Rice each collected multiple hits for Topsfield Tories.

Beverly Giants and Rockport Townies Play to a Draw

A single in the sixth inning helped Beverly Giants battle to a 6-6 tie with Rockport Townies on Wednesday. 

Rockport Townies captured the lead in the first inning. Jordan Pallazola homered on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.  Rockport Townies scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Rockport Townies came thanks to a single by Nolan Webb and a groundout.
 

Beverly Giants collected 12 hits. Kevin Harutunian , Mike Macdonald, and Josh Levesque each collected multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Andy Brown and Conor Walsh each drove in two runs to lead Beverly Giants.  Rockport Townies had nine hits in the game. Keady Segel and Dylan Maki each collected multiple hits for Rockport Townies.

Hamilton Generals Fall in Extras after Late Beverly Rally

Hamilton Generals stayed in it until the end, but Beverly Giants pulled away late in a 4-3 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Beverly Giants batting in the top of the eighth when.
Hamilton Generals lost despite out-hitting Beverly Giants seven to six.
 

Hamilton Generals took an early lead in the first inning. Hamilton Generals scored one run on a stolen base in the first inning. Beverly Giants evened things up at three in the top of the seventh inning. A wild pitch by Nick Burnham scored one run for Beverly Giants. 

Dan Cashman earned the win for Beverly Giants. He pitched eight innings, allowing three runs, seven hits, and striking out eight. Burnham took the loss for Hamilton Generals. He went seven innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out 12, and walking one. 


Joe Desjardins led Hamilton Generals with one run batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day. Hamilton Generals was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jim Love had the most chances in the field with 12.

Strong Offense Not Enough as Ipswich Chiefs Falls to Rockport Townies

Ipswich Chiefs's bats were strong against Rockport Townies on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough as Ipswich Chiefs fell 11-6. Ipswich Chiefs took an early lead in the first inning. Greg Doucette drove in one when he singled in the first inning. 

Rockport Townies took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Nolan Webb doubled off of Will Diezemann, driving in two runs. Ipswich Chiefs scored three runs in the seventh inning. Ipswich Chiefs's big inning was driven by a double by Diezemann and a single by Sam Blizard. 


Rockport Townies scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Rockport Townies's big inning was driven by a single by James Parisi, a walk by Brian Lentz, a single by Marcus Cottone, a double by Jay Fulmer, and a passed ball. 


Mackenzie Quinn earned the win for Rockport Townies. He tossed four innings, giving up one run, seven hits, striking out four, and walking zero. Two relievers helped Rockport Townies close out the victory. Jason Vizena threw two innings. Diezemann took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He went four innings, allowing eight runs, four hits, and striking out four. 


Ipswich Chiefs had 11 hits in the game. Blizard, Diezemann, and Doucette each collected multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Doucette, Diezemann, and Blizard each managed two hits to lead Ipswich Chiefs. 


Rockport Townies collected 11 hits. Parisi, Webb, and Fulmer each collected multiple hits for Rockport Townies.

Manchester-Essex won their 8th str8 game last night in Essex. Rusty Tucker lead the way with 6 scoreless innings. Caulin Rogers added 2 RBIs in his multi hit performance.

Rockport Townies Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Ipswich Chiefs

An early lead helped Rockport Townies defeat Ipswich Chiefs 7-4 on Sunday. Rockport Townies scored on a single by Keady Segel in the first inning, a error in the first inning, a walk in the second inning, and a single by Segel in the second inning. 

Ipswich Chiefs scored three runs in the third inning, but Rockport Townies still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Ipswich Chiefs came thanks to a double by Greg Doucette and a triple by Dave Moore. Ipswich Chiefs captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Doucette drove in one run when he singled. 


Rockport Townies took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Keady Segel singled off of Andrew Carbone, driving in one run and there was an error, scoring two runs.
Rockport Townies scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk and a single by Segel.  Ipswich Chiefs scored three runs in the third inning. Ipswich Chiefs's big inning was driven by a double by Doucette and a triple by Moore.

Manchester wins 4-3 in 9 innings Friday night in Topsfield

Hamilton Generals Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Ipswich Chiefs

Hamilton Generals defeated Ipswich Chiefs 6-4 in a back-and-forth affair on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Hamilton Generals batting in the bottom of the third when Nick Burnham homered off of Greg Doucette, driving in three runs. 

Ipswich Chiefs took an early lead in the first inning. Ipswich Chiefs scored one run when Greg Doucette doubled with two outs in the first inning.  Hamilton Generals took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. 


Jack Clay earned the win for Hamilton Generals. He threw six and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs, five hits, and striking out nine. Doucette took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He pitched five innings, surrendering six runs, nine hits, and striking out three. 


Hamilton Generals had nine hits in the game. Larry Saggese and Harrison O'Brien each collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. O'Brien and Saggese all had two hits to lead Hamilton Generals. Hamilton Generals didn't commit a single error in the field. Pete Duval had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Mariners 14 Chiefs 6

Manchester-Essex had 9 players score in a row in the 5th inning to take the lead and eventually hold on for a 14 to 6 victory. Mike Cain had a legendary day at the plate, Cain was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 long doubles to the left center gap and 9 runs batted in.

Caulin Rogers and Ian Buckley both had multiple hits for the Mariners.

Rory Gentile pitched 6 strong innings for the win, working around multiple fielding errors.

Mariners 7 Tories 6

In the bottom of the 7th inning the Topsfield Tories lead 6 to 3 with 2 outs and no one on base. Manchester-Essex got the comeback started on a Rory Gentile single to right. After a walk to Mike Cain, Adam Philpott ripped an RBI single that scored Gentile and advanced Cain to 3rd base. Philpott moved up to 2nd on an error by the left fielder as the ball skipped under his glove. Sean Desmond was then called to pinch run for Philpott.
The stage was set for Noah Aiello. With 2 strikes Aiello lined a ball up the middle scoring Cain and Desmond. The throw to the plate beat Desmond but during his slide the ball dislodged from the catcher's grasp allowing the Mariners to tie the game at 6.

The following batter, Ian Buckley, reached on a ball hit between 3rd and short, putting Aiello at 3rd base. Next up was Robbie Sarmanian, the ITL rookie hit a hard ball at the shortstop that ricocheted off his glove and allowed the winning run to score.


Topsfield batted around in the first inning, scoring 4 runs on 5 hits. Mariners starter Marc Phinney was able to settle in and allow just 2 runs over the next 5 innings. Dom Cirone picked up the win in relief. Zach Lampkin pitched a complete game for Topsfield.

Ipswich Chiefs Can't Hold Up Against Hamilton Generals
 

Ipswich Chiefs had trouble keeping up with Hamilton Generals in a 5-1 loss on Monday.
Hamilton Generals captured the lead in the first inning. Hamilton Generals scored one run when Aaron Cohen singled with zero outs in the first inning. 


In the bottom of the second inning, Ipswich Chiefs tied things up at one. Jeff Doucette singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the second inning, scoring one run.  Hamilton Generals took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Nick Burnham doubled off of Andrew Carbone, driving in one run. 


Hamilton Generals scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Hamilton Generals came thanks to a single by Cohen, a single by Mark Ruggiero, and a single by Chris Huggett.  Luke Painchaud earned the win for Hamilton Generals. He went seven innings, surrendering one run, six hits, and striking out seven. Carbone took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He tossed seven innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, striking out nine, and walking one. 


Ipswich Chiefs collected six hits. Jake Greaney and Doucette each collected multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Doucette and Greaney each collected two hits to lead Ipswich Chiefs.  Hamilton Generals had eight hits in the game. Cohen and Burnham each collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Beverly Giants blew out Rockport Townies 8-2 on Wednesday.
  • Rockport Townies took an early lead in the first inning.  Mike Emerson hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.
  • Beverly Giants evened things up at two in the bottom of the third inning. A wild pitch by Jason Vizena scored one run for Beverly Giants.
  • Beverly Giants took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Andy Brown hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
  • Beverly Giants scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Gavin Sparkman , a walk , and a wild pitch.
  • Josh Levesque earned the win for Beverly Giants. He tossed seven innings, surrendering two runs, four hits, and striking out seven.  Vizena took the loss for Rockport Townies. He pitched four innings, surrendering three runs, two hits, and striking out two.
