Man./Essex Mariners Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Ipswich Chiefs

• Man./Essex Mariners defeated Ipswich Chiefs 4-1 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with Man./Essex Mariners batting in the bottom of the sixth when Max Nesbit doubled off of Greg Doucette, driving in one run.
• Ipswich Chiefs captured the lead in the second inning. With two outs in the second inning Dave Moore drove in one run when he tripled.
• Man./Essex Mariners knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fifth inning. Man./Essex Mariners scored one run when Caulin Rogers doubled with two outs in the fifth inning.
• Rusty Tucker earned the win for Man./Essex Mariners. He pitched seven innings, giving up one run, one hit, striking out 17, and walking one.  Greg Doucette took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He went six innings, allowing four runs, nine hits, and striking out one.
• Man./Essex Mariners collected nine hits.  Rogers and Paul Crehan each collected multiple hits for Man./Essex Mariners.  Rogers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Man./Essex Marinersin hits.  Man./Essex Mariners was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Crehanmade the most plays with 16.
• Moore went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.
