Chief's over the Generals 14-3

In the first match up between these two rivals the Ipswich squad had an impressive 6th inning by opening the flood gates with 11 runs. It was also in that 6th inning where the Tribe from Linebrook belted 3 homeruns. The hit parade started with the game dead locked at three when Tommy Radzim hit a shot into the little league diamond to take the lead. Then Jimmy "Salty" Bodwell also joined the fun going by going the other way to left. And lastly "Shootah" Dave Shoreman stroked a ball to left center almost taking out the centerfielder for the Orioles over on the little league diamond to cap off the 11 run 6th.Hits came early for the Chief's as in the 1st Dylan During showed off his opposite field power sending a ball into the trees in right. After that it turned into a pitchers duel as HW's starter would keep the bats for the home team quiet for 4+ innings. Andy Workman got the call tonight for Ipswich throwing 6 solid innings, giving up six hits, yielding 3 runs, and struck out six Generals. Workman tipped his cap and gave way to Chris Lane who pitched a scoreless 7th. Mark Provost had 3 hits for the Generals. These two meet again on Thursday on Hamilton-Wenhams battle field Patton Park. The war continues at 5:45 when Dave Doucette takes the hill for the Tribe which is looking to go 5-0.
