Hamilton 7 - Beverly 4

Jeff Jensen got the win and Judd Funchion earned the save as the Hamilton Generals were able to defeat Luke Deschamps and the Beverly Giants 7-4. Beverly led early thanks to the long ball, but the Generals were able to to come back thanks to some timely pitching and great defense.

The Generals got one in the top of the first with an RBI double from Bryan Vitale. The Giants answered and took the lead in the 2nd thanks to a 2-run HR off the bat of Pat Doyle. The Generals tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the third, Justin Tilley was credited with an RBI double. The Giants showed some nice defense as they were able to throw 2 runners out at the plate. Pat Doyle ended the inning with a long throw from center catching a would be scorer.

Beverly Stolen Base

The Giants' Bats came alive in the bottom of the third. Nick Adams led off the inning with a mammoth shot to center that probably landed in a neighbor's back yard. Jeff Barricelli, next up, was robbed of a HR by Jim Maloney who made an outstanding grab reaching over the fence. Derek Scaildone followed with a HR to left. When all was said and done the Giants just missed on back to back to back HR, but finished the 3rd with a 4-2 lead.

The Generals only recorded on hit in the fifth inning, but were able to take the lead with 3 runs. Tim O'Leary sparked the Generals rally with a lead off double, and later scored. Andre Painchaud got a 2 RBI single in the sixth finishing out the scoring. Jeff Jensen, who was able to settle down after Beverly's HR's, gave way to Judd Funchion who shut the door in the 7th, earning the save. Final score was 7-4.
