Jay MacGilvary: ITL Hall of Fame
Jay
Ellsworth MacGilvary, 67, beloved husband of Sally (Porter) MacGilvary,
with whom he shared 44 years of marriage, passed away on Sunday,
October 28th at his home. Born in Ipswich, he was the son of the late
Forrest and Ruth (Bodman) MacGilvary. Jay grew up in Ipswich and
graduated from Ipswich High School. He attended and graduated from
Brewster Academy in Wolfboro, NH. He also attended and graduated from
Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. For eleven years, Jay taught
physical education at Ipswich High School and coached football,
wrestling and baseball. He was involved in the inter town baseball
league and is a member of its hall of fame. He also was a volunteer
coach in Hamilton-Wenham little league and babe ruth league baseball
program. Jay was also a member of the Ipswich High School Hall of Fame
committee. In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by two sons: J.P.
Mac-Gilvary of Ipswich, Casey MacGilvary of Denver, Colorado; two
daughters: Megan Sukduang and her husband Suriyon of Houston and Sarah
Falkanger of Ipswich; one brother: Ronald MacGilvery and his wife Susan
of Venice, Florida; and four grandchildren: Marisa and Jake MacGilvary
and Trin and Tola Sukduang. Services for Jay will be held privately. In
lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Jays Memory to the
Jimmy Fund, C/O Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston,
