Mariners Bounce Back with Win, Combined No-Hitter

Man./Essex Mariners's Three Pitchers Combine In No-Hitter to Defeat Ipswich Chiefs

Man./Essex Mariners defeated Ipswich Chiefs 11-0 on Tuesday, as three pitchers teamed up to throw a no-hitter. Peter Clark to get the last out of the game. Man./Essex Mariners fired up the offense in the first inning, when Rory Gentile homered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Man./Essex Mariners scored five runs in the third inning. Man./Essex Mariners big bats were led by Paul Crehan and Alex Ray, who all drove in runs.  Rusty Tucker took the win for Man./Essex Mariners. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out 14 and walking one. Clark and Ryan Marques entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Alex Morris took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He allowed six hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.  Man./Essex Mariners socked one home run on the day. Gentile had a long ball in the first inning.  Man./Essex Mariners totaled nine hits. Tucker and Gentile each managed multiple hits for Man./Essex Mariners. Tucker led Man./Essex Mariners with three hits in four at bats. Man./Essex Mariners was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Crehan made the most plays with 13.
