Rockport Townies Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Hamilton Generals


Rockport Townies stole the lead late in the game in a 14-7 victory over Hamilton Generals on Sunday. The game was tied at five with Rockport Townies batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kyle Nelson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.


Rockport Townies earned the victory despite allowing Hamilton Generals to score five runs in the fifth inning. Hamilton Generals's big inning was driven by singles by Phil Durgin, Larry Saggese, and Carter Coffey and a fielder's choice by Sean Patrikas. Rockport Townies got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run for Rockport Townies. Jack Engel led the Rockport Townies to victory on the mound. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over two and a third innings, striking out three.
Durgin took the loss for Hamilton Generals. The hurler went four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out four.


Kenzie Quinn started the game for Rockport Townies. The bulldog allowed eight hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking zero. Rockport Townies saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Danny Ryan, Keady Segel, Jameson Kamm, and Jack Guelli all had multiple hits for Rockport Townies. Ryan led Rockport Townies with three hits in four at bats. Hamilton Generals tallied ten hits. Coffey and Hunter Willochoski all managed multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Coffey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hamilton Generals in hits.
