Early Lead For Beverly Giants Seals Fate For Ipswich Chiefs

Ipswich Chiefs watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-5 loss to Beverly Giants on Friday. Beverly Giants scored on a sacrifice fly by Dan Patrazza in the first inning, a walk by Luke McDonald in the second inning, a walk by Gavin Sparkman in the second inning, a sacrifice fly by Andy Brown in the second inning, and a wild pitch during Andrew "Woody" Terista's at bat in the second inning.  Ipswich Chiefs lost despite out-hitting Beverly Giants 13 to 12.

Beverly Giants opened up scoring in the first inning, when Patrazza's sac fly scored one run for Beverly Giants.  Ipswich Chiefs notched four runs in the fifth inning. Ipswich Chiefs offense in the inning was led by RJ Libby, Jake Greaney, Alex Morris, and Chas Rousseau, who all drove in runs.
Beverly Giants scored four runs in the second inning. McDonald, Sparkman, Brown , and Terista powered the big inning with RBIs.

Brown led the Beverly Giants to victory on the mound. He allowed 13 hits and five runs over six innings, striking out six. Dan Cashman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Will Diezemann took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on three hits.

Ipswich Chiefs launched one home run on the day. Libby had a long ball in the fifth inning.
Ipswich Chiefs tallied 13 hits in the game. Libby, Caleb Comeau, Sam Blizard, and Dave Moore each collected multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Comeau and Libby each managed three hits to lead Ipswich Chiefs.

Beverly Giants collected 12 hits on the day. Sparkman, Kevin Harutunian, McDonald, and John Biszza all collected multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Sparkman led Beverly Giants with three hits in four at bats.
