Man./Essex Mariners Takes High-Scoring Game From Hamilton Generals, 12-6

Both offenses were strong in Man./Essex Mariners 12-6 victory over Hamilton Generals.  Hamilton Generals got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Hamilton Generals.

Man./Essex Mariners scored six runs in the third inning. Man./Essex Mariners put the pressure on, lead by walks by Rory Gentile and Adam Philpott, an error on a ball put in play by Ian Buckley and Eric Chalmers, and a fielder's choice by Caulin Rogers.

Hamilton Generals scored three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Hamilton Generals was led by Chris Huggett and Harrison O'Brien, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Marc Phinney earned the victory on the hill for Man./Essex Mariners. He allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six. Corey McCollum threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Cam Vatour took the loss for Hamilton Generals. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out two.

Man./Essex Mariners totaled ten hits. Rogers, Kellen Field, and Charlie Otterbein each managed multiple hits for Man./Essex Mariners. Rogers led Man./Essex Mariners with three hits in four at bats.

O'Brien went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Hamilton Generals in hits. Hamilton Generals stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. O'Brien led the way with two.
