Dan Cashman pitched a three hit shutout to move the Giants past the Tories, 4 to 0 Sunday at Cooney Field. Cashman and Topsfield's Andy Heath were locked in a scoreless pitching duel until Beverly erupted for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning taking advantage of some errors. The big blow of the inning was a two run single off the bat of Kevin Harutunian that plated two runs that would be all Cashman would need to earn the victory.
Harutunian added two stolen bases on the night. In addition, Frankie Messina (2 for 2, 2BB) and Andy Brown (2 for 3, BB) chipped in to lead the offense.
For Topsfield, Andy Heath was the tough luck loser allowing 4 unearned runs over 6 innings. Heath was also 1 for 3 at the plate with a double.
