The Beverly Giants (14-6) used a 7 run fifth inning to beat the Hamilton
Generals (8-8-1) 9 to 3 Sunday. Paul Drinkwater's grand slam was the big blow
of the inning for the Giants. Drinkwater finished 2 for 3 with a HR, 4RBI, and
2R on the day. Also contributing offensively for the Giants were John Boyle (2
for 2, RBI) and Jeff Barricelli (1 for 2, 3RBI). Josh Levesque started on the
mound and allowed only 1 unearned run over 4 innings. Steve Palladino earned the win
allowing 2 runs in 3 innings of relief.
The Generals were led by Avon Stewart (3 for 4, 2RBI) and Jim Maloney (1 for
3, 2B, 2R). Matt Greeke was charged with the loss.
The two teams meet up again in Hamilton Tuesday night.
