Derek Scialdone was 4 for 5 with 2HR and 7RBI to lead Beverly's second come from behind late inning win over Hamilton this season.
Beverly jumped out to an early 7 to 0 lead in the 2nd inning. Hamilton stormed back and took an 11 to 8 lead after 5 innings.
In the top of the 6th, Nick Adams hit a two run homerun to cut the lead to one. Three batters later, Mike Freni hit a two run homerun to take a 12 to 11 lead. Hamilton was held scoreless in their half of the 6th.
Beverly added 5 insurance runs in the top of the 7th. First, a run scored on a throwing error, and then Scialdone put the game away with a two out grand slam giving Beverly the 17 to 11 lead that would eventually hold up for the victory.
Sean Martin earned the victory for Beverly allowing 1 run over 2 innings of relief. Tim O'Leary was charged with the loss.
Other than Scialdone, Beverly's offense was led by Adams (2 for 5, HR, 3RBI), Mike Freni (2 for 5, HR, 2RBI), Bill Boccuzzi (2 for 4, 2 runs), and Pat Doyle (2 for 3).
Hamilton was led by Justin Tilley (3 for 4, HR, 3RBI), Jim Maloney (2 for 5, 2RBI), Reggie Maidment (2 for 4, 2RBI), and Jered Stewart (2 for 5, RBI).
Game Notes:
* With 7 RBI's last night, Scialdone set the Beverly franchise mark for one game, beating the previous record of 6 shared by Mike Freni (7/21/04) and Scialdone (7/16/06).
* Through 8 games Scialdone is now 2nd on the team in batting at .548, and leads the team in homeruns (4) and RBI (18)
* Mike Freni hit the century mark with his 100th hit since the inception of the Giants in 2004 in his 101st game played.
* Freni also launched his 15th career homerun last night good for 2nd in Giants franchise history
