The Rockport Townies (5-5-1) defeated the Beverly Giants (6-5-1) by the score of 7 to 5 Thursday night at Cooney Field. The score was tied at zero in the 3rd when Chuck Anderson singled home a run with the bases loaded and then Brent Currier hit a grand slam to take a 5 to 0 lead. Rockport would hold the lead for the remainder of the game. Anderson and Mike Ayer added solo homers. Vasaulo pitched 4 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Derek Osmond pitched 2 2/3 scoreles innings for the save.
Beverly got two scoreless innings from Luke Deschamps and one from Roger Dragani. Rocky Pisa (2-3) was charged with the loss. Beverly only managed 4 hits on the night. Derek Scialdone knocked in two runs and Nick Adams singled and scored twice.
