Townies take game 1

Rockport took game 1 of the series in Rowley tonight 9-6 behind a complete game effort from Derek Osmond. Dave Mariani put the Rams up 3-0 in the in the bottom of the 3rd with a bases loaded double but Rockport responded with 7 runs in the top of the 4th capped by a monster 3 run HR by Brent Currier. Nick Liguori suffered his first loss of the season for the Rams. Down 9-4 in the 7th the Rams would plate 2 on another Mariani double but that would be all the Rams could do against Osmond (7INN, 7H, 7K, 3BB 6R,W). The Rams travel to Rockport tomorrow searching for their first playoff win in over 2 decades. Game time 5:30.
