Mariners 5 Townies 4

The Mariners erased a 1 run deficit to walk off in the bottom of the 7th yesterday in Essex. Trailing 4-3, Ian Buckley led off the 7th with a HBP. Pitch runner Jake Fitzgerald stole second and moved over the 3rd base after Rory Gentile reached on a ball hit in the hole to 2nd. Gentile then stole 2nd base. Still with no outs, the tieing run was scored on a wild pitch and then Caulin Rogers hit a ball down the 3rd base line that scored Gentile who was running on contact.

Mike Gibbon started for the Mariners and went 4 innings allowing 2 runs, Gentile pitched the final 3 innings allowing 2 runs and earning the win. Mackenzie Quinn pitched 6 quality innings for the Townies, letting up 3 runs. The Fighting Bertolinos move to 4-0.
