Ipswich Chiefs outlasted the Beverly Giants on
Sunday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 4-3 win at BALCH.
Ipswich Chiefs took the lead in the seventh inning
and held on for the victory. Ipswich Chiefs scored on a two-run single
by Jake Greaney off Josh Levesque, scoring Connor Henry and Greg Doucette.
Greaney racked up three RBIs on two hits for Ipswich Chiefs.
Conor Walsh racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Beverly Giants. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Andrew Carbone
got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed three runs
over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six
hits.
Levesque couldn't get it done on the hill for the
Beverly Giants, taking a loss. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked
three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
Ipswich Chiefs closer Jon Simard put away the final two outs to record the save.
Ipswich Chiefs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third. Pat Curran
started the rally for Ipswich Chiefs with a single. A single by Connor
Henry then moved Curran from first to third. Ipswich Chiefs pushed more
runs across when Henry scored on an RBI single by Greaney.
