Late Score Costs Rockport Townies Against Ipswich Chiefs

Rockport Townies lost the lead late in a 5-0 defeat to Ipswich Chiefs on Sunday. The game was tied at zero with Ipswich Chiefs batting in the top of the fifth when Sam Blizard singled off of Derek Osmond, driving in one run. 

Ipswich Chiefs scored three runs in the seventh inning. Ipswich Chiefs's big inning was driven by a single by RJ Libby and a home run by Sam Blizard.

One bright spot for Rockport Townies was a single by Kyle Nelson in the first inning.
Jake Greaney earned the win for Ipswich Chiefs. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, and striking out four. Derek Osmond took the loss for Rockport Townies. He threw five innings, allowing two runs, eight hits, striking out four, and walking zero.

Jay Fulmer, Reese Fulmer, Keady Segel, and Nelson each managed one hit to lead Rockport Townies. Rockport Townies was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Caleb Tanson made the most plays with six.

Ipswich Chiefs had 11 hits in the game. Blizard, Libby, and Jeff Doucette each collected multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Blizard led Ipswich Chiefs with three hits in four at bats.
