Two Pitchers Team Up as Ipswich Chiefs Shuts Out Rockport Townies

Ipswich Chiefs defeated Rockport Townies 4-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Andrew Carbone induced a fly out from Alex Webb to finish off the game.
An early lead helped propel Ipswich Chiefs to victory. Ipswich Chiefs took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Ipswich Chiefs captured the lead in the first inning. Ipswich Chiefs scored one run when Jake Greaney singled with two outs in the first inning.  Ipswich Chiefs scored three runs in the fourth inning. Ipswich Chiefs scored on a single by Jon Lech and a fielder's choice by Alex Morris.
A single by Kyle Nelson in the first inning was a positive for Rockport Townies.

Jake Randolph earned the win for Ipswich Chiefs. He went five innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, and striking out ten. Andrew Carbone recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Ipswich Chiefs. Ethan Tanson took the loss for Rockport Townies. He tossed three innings, surrendering four runs, six hits, and walking zero.

Ipswich Chiefs collected seven hits. Greaney and Greg Doucette each collected multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Doucette and Greaney all had two hits to lead Ipswich Chiefs. Ipswich Chiefs was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lech made the most plays with 11.   Nelson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Rockport Townies in hits. Rockport Townies didn't commit a single error in the field. James Parisi had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
