The Giants came back from a 3 to 0 deficit to beat the Tories Monday night. Topsfield struck first in the second inning when two runners scored on a botched 1st and 3rd steal situation. They added another run in the third inning on another 1st and 3rd delay steal where the runner on first sacrificed himself, but the runner on 3rd scored.
Beverly cut the deficit to 3 to 1 in the bottom of the third inning when Kevin Harutunian singled and stole second base followed by a Rob Freni RBI single.
The Giants added another run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Derek Scialdone doubled home a run. Beverly tied the game in the bottom of the sixth when Chris Freni stole 3rd base and then scored on Mike Freni's sacrifice fly.
The game remained tied 3 to 3 until the bottom of the 7th inning. With two men out, Scialdone walked, and Boyle singled. Jeff Barricelli then hit a bloop that just got over the infield and landed in front of the centerfielder. Scialdone beat a strong throw to the plate giving the Giants a walkoff win.
Rocky Pisa earned the victory with a complete game, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4.
Zack Lamkin was the tough luck loser. Lamkin also pitched the entire game and struck out 6. Offensively, Lamkin was 2 for 4 with a stolen base.
