Rams 4 - Giants 3
The Rowley Rams overcame a 5th inning 3 run deficit to pull out the win. Beverly held a 3- 0 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th when the Rams plated 4, giving Joe Katin enough support to earn his 4th win of the season. Katin again pitched well for the Rams working his 5th complete game giving up 1ER on 3H, 4BB's and 4K's. For Beverly, Gill pitched well into the 5th inning and Carr came in to finish things off. In the top half of the 5th Hartunian and Boccuzzi both came in to extend Beverly's lead to 3. In the bottom half of the inning the Rams had 2 in and 2 on with 2 outs, Tim Moore came up with a huge AB fouling off no fewer than 4 2 strike pitches before delivering a 2 run double to right center. Katin retired the side in order in both the 6th and 7th innings. Offensively for Rowley Moore's 2 hits and 2 RBI led the way with Nick Liguori also putting up 2 hits and an SB. For Beverly Boyle had 2 hits, Boccuzzi scored 2 runs and Scialdone picked up a hit and an RBI. Rowley squares off with Rockport tomorrow night in Rowley while Beverly takes on Ipswich in a home game for Beverly played in Ipswich.
