In the third the Generals were able to extend the lead to 2 by adding another run. Vitale brought home Provost on a fielder's choice. The lead did not last long as the Tories tied the game in the top of the 4th. McCarthy and Hittinger both scored on a few General miscues in the field. The Game stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh as Drinkwater only allowed two baserunners and recorded 5 k's over the final 3 innings.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Generals got it going right away. Maidment led off the inning with his second HBP of the game. After a pop out, Funchion and Provost worked back-to-back walks, loading the bases with only one out. With Sullivan up, he was able to hit a 2-2 pitch up the middle. While a diving stop, with the infield drawn in, kept the ball in the infield there was no play anywhere and the Generals were able to score the winning run.
