Beverly - 6, Ipswich - 2

The Beverly Giants (5-5) beat the Ipswich Chiefs (5-4) by the score of 6 to 2 Sunday night at Cooney Field. The game was tied at 2 in the bottom of the 6th when the Giants scored 4 runs to take the lead. Frankie Messina earned the win allowing only 2 runs over 6 innings while striking out 6. Erik Drown pitched a scoreless seventh to preserve the victory. Ty Besse was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Jeff Barricelli was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Paul Drinkwater knocked in 2 runs. Ipswich's Chris Doucette was 2 for 3 with a homerun. Conor McCarthy gave up 2 runs in 5 innings for the Chiefs.
