Vitale put the Generals up 2-0 in the first with a two-run homer.
In the third, he had a two-run single, on which a third run came home on
a throwing error. Matt Greeke followed with his first career ITL homer
to push the Generals' lead to 7-2. The Generals tacked on two more
runs in the fourth on a Maloney (1-for-2, HBP, BB, 2RBI) bases loaded
walk and a Vitale fielder's choice. Maloney rounded out the scoring on
the night with a RBI single in the sixth.
Kevin Hartunian (2-for-2, 2B, HR, 3RBI) and Paul Drinkwater (solo
HR) provided the offense for Beverly. Hamilton's Reggie Maidment
(1-for-1, 3HBP, 2B, 4R) had yet another strong game from the leadoff
spot, reaching base all four times and scoring four runs. The Duval
brothers and Austin Michelle had a nice showing for Hamilton in their
ITL debuts. Hamilton's offense created an early cushion for Charette, who allowed only five hits while striking
out 11.
