Manchester/Essex 8 - Rockport 3

The Mariners won their first game of the season 8-3 at Evans Field over the Townies of Rockport. M/E was led by a complete game, 2 hit effort from Charlie Choate (7IP, 2H, 13K, 1 earned run). On the hill for Rockport were pitchers Jeff Fristhen (Loss, 1IP, 5H, 4ER, 1K), Andrew Vassallo (3 2/3IP, 4H, 6K, 2ER), and Chris Bouchie (2 1/3IP, 2H, 1ER, 4K).

Corey Hildonen led the Mariners with 3 hits; Charlie Choate and Joe Orlando contributed 2 hits each; Orlando had 3 rbi's, Bryan Lafata and Whit Graham each had 2 rbi's.

The Townies were were led by Brent Currier's rbi triple in the 1st inning and Justin Paradis leadoff single in the 3rd inning.

The Mariners improve to 1-2 and Rockport drops to 2-1. Rockport will visit the Mariners on Tuesday night, June 5th in Essex at 5:45pm (Memorial Field); weather permitting.
