Manchester took a 1 to 0 lead in the bottom of the second on Nicastro's RBI double. There would be no more scoring until the 6th inning as Mike Gibbon and Joe Gill locked horns in a pitcher's duel.
In the top of the 6th, Beverly got a 3 run homer from John Boyle before Erik Drown scored on a wild pitch to give the Giants a 4 to 1 lead. In the bottom of the 6th Manchester scored a run on a Hillenbrand RBI double to cut the lead to 4 to 2.
Steve Stout pitched a scoreless top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, the Mariners had two out with no baserunners before staging a rally off Erik Drown to tie the game. Gibbon singled, Choate doubled, and MacFarland brought them home with another single to tie it.
Stout and Sean Martin each pitched a scoreless 8th and the game ended in a tie.
Gibbon (6IP, 4R, 9H, 1BB, 6K) and Gill (6IP, 2R, 5H, 1BB, 1HBP, 5K) both pitched well. For Manchester, MacFarland was 3 for 4 with 2RBI to lead the offense. The Giants were led by Erik Drown (3 for 4, R), Kevin Harutunian (3 for 4, 2SB) and Boyle (1 for 4, HR, 3RBI)
