Connor Sullivan picked up the win for the Generals going 5 innings allowing only 3 runs on 5 hits. Kevin Michael started for the Chiefs going 6 innings and recording 10 K's! but was charged with the loss. The Generals got a solo HR from Mark Provost in the first to break the ice. The Generals extended the lead with 5 more runs in the second. With two on and one out, Jim Love got an RBI single. Two batters later the Generals got a 3-run HR from Jim Maloney. Bryan Vitale also contributed a RBI single to put the Generals up 6-0 after two.
The Chiefs got on the board with two in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 6-2. Hernandez got an RBI double to left that was followed by a Montecalvo RBI single. In the fifth the Generals extended the lead to 9-2. Jim Maloney hit a big bases loaded single that landed just over the leftfielder's glove that scored two. Bryan Vitale got a RBI sac-fly to finish out the Generals scoring. Michael delivered a sac-fly in the bottom of the fifth to give the Chiefs their third run. Cam Charette came in to pitch two scoreless innings and seal the victory for the Generals. The two teams face off again this Thursday at Patton, but not before the Generals host Rockport in a makeup tonight. Both start at 5:45pm.
