Generals 7 Mariners 4
Hamilton (10-9) pulled above the .500 mark by pulling out a come from behind win Tuesday night in Essex. The Generals trailed 4-2 entering the top of the 7th, but rallied for five runs to earn a huge victory. With one out, Bryan Vitale started the rally by drawing a walk. Tim O'Leary then beat out a dribbler to put the tying run on base. Up next, Devin Keller hit a grounder to shortstop and the attempt to force O'Leary at second was thrown away into rightfield allowing Vitale to score and putting runners on second and third. Mark Ruggiero (2-for-4, HR, 3RBI) then delivered the biggest hit of the night by lining a 1-2 curveball into left-center to score two runs giving the Generals a 5-4 lead. Two batters later Reginald J. Maidment (3-for-3, 2B, HR, HBP, 2RBI) provided some breathing room with a two-run job to center. Connor Sullivan (7IP, 7H, 4R, 3ER, 1BB, 4K) retired the Mariners in order in the bottom of the 7th to nail down the victory.
Ryan Marques pitched a complete game for Manchester/Essex striking out five. The Mariner offense was highlighted by a mammoth solo-HR in the second inning by Rory Gentile.
