The Townies bested the Chiefs 4-2 on Sunday night at Evans Field in Rockport.

Brent Currier went the distance on the mound, striking out seven and scattering seven hits, including striking out the side in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded. Offensively, Dan Greel (3for3, hr, 2 rbis), Brent Currier (1for3, 3b, rs), Chris Bouchie (1for3, rbi, sb, rs), Brock Currier (1for3, bb, rs) and Jeremy Spittle (1for2,rbi) paced the Townies.

For the Chiefs, Kevin Michael went the distance, striking out 8, while allowing 4 runs on 8 hits total. The Ipswich offense was paced by Dave Shoreman (2for4, 2 2bs, rbi), Andy Knox (2for3, rs) and Pete Sotoripoulos (2b, rbi).

The Townies improved to 4-4, while the Chiefs dropped to 1-5.
