Topsfield emerges through the fog over Beverly 9-5
Wednesday night Beverly and Topsfield played in Topsfield after a long week of rain and called games. Topsfield Dropped 1-0 after the first inning, but with great pitching from Zack Lamkin and great defense from the Tories catcher McCarthy and timely hitting from the Tories they chipped away. Scoring 3 runs in the second inning and shutting Beverly down for 3 innings. Topsfield got the score to 9-1 with Hathaway leading the way with a 3 for 3 performance and 3 RBI’s along with good hitting from Gallugi with 3 RBI’s and Dyer, Lobdell, and Lamkin getting clutch hits in the 4th inning. Beverly came back strong in the 5th making a run and getting the score to 9-5, led by the hard hitting Jeff Barraceli showing there tough team demeanor and battling back for there starting pitcher Rocky Pizza who only gave up 1 hit in his 3 innings of work but not getting the defensive help needed to let “rubber arm go the distance. but after the top of the 6th inning the game was called for darkness and the Tories get there 3rd win of the season. Topsfield Plays Ham-Wen at home Friday in a make-up game at 5:45 Procter School field.
