In a great pitcher's duel, the Rowley Rams defeated the Generals by the score of 3-2. The game only took 1 hour and 15 minutes as both starting pitchers were on fire. Matt Wile pitched 6 innings allowing only 1 run, 4 hits, and 1 BB on his way to recording the win. Judd Funchion was just as impressive going 6 complete, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, 1 BB but picked up the loss. Warden picked up the save in relief.
In one of the fastest games on record, through 5 complete innings the game saw a total of zero runs, 3 hits, and only 3 base runners. The Generals got on the board first in the top of the sixth inning. O'Leary started things off with an infield single. A fielder's choice and a BB later, Provost delivered an RBI single that plated Maidment with the game's first run.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Rams struck back with 3 runs. Mariani keyed the attack with a 2-run double, which was followed by a Berry RBI single. In the top of the seventh the Generals put together a rally. O'Leary delivered an RBI double scoring Tilley from first. With the tying run in scoring position and two outs, Judd Funchion put together a great at bat. A full count Funchion drilled a line drive down the left field line that just landed foul. Warden was able to settle down and paint the corner with a strike 3 call to end the game, earning the save. A great game ended with the Rams winning 3-2.
