Generals Win over Tories 5-2

Avon Stewart helps ITL Hamilton Generals down ITL Topsfield Tories 5-2

Avon Stewart had two extra base hits as ITL Hamilton Generals took home a 5-2 victory over ITL Topsfield Tories in seven innings at Patton Park 43 Asbury St, MA 01982 on Thursday.  He doubled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Larry Torres kept contact to a minimum, striking out six ITL Topsfield Tories batters. Larry Torres allowed one earned run, three hits and four walks over six innings.  ITL Hamilton Generals was sparked by Stewart and Drew Taylor, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

Zack Lamkin was charged with the loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The bottom of the first saw ITL Hamilton Generals take an early lead, 2-0. ITL Hamilton Generals' rally started when Taylor doubled. A single by Luke Wendt then moved Taylor from second to third. ITL Hamilton Generals added more runs when Wendt scored on an RBI single by Jeff Brown.  ITL Hamilton Generals stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fifth, scoring three runs on a three-run home run by Stewart.
