Bats Blistered As Hamilton Generals Falls to Rockport Townies in High-Scoring Game

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Hamilton Generals fell to Rockport Townies 13-8 on Thursday.  Hamilton Generals took an early lead in the first inning when an error scored one run for Hamilton Generals.

Rockport Townies took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Dylan Maki singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Keady Segel singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Tyler Watkins singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Kyle Nelson grounded out, scoring one run.

Marcus Cottone pitched Rockport Townies to victory. He lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one. Jason Vizena threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Luke Painchaud took the loss for Hamilton Generals. He surrendered nine runs on 12 hits over three and a third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Hamilton Generals collected eight hits on the day. Harrison O'Brien and Larry Saggese each collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. O'Brien went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Hamilton Generals in hits. Hamilton Generals tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Jake Lanciani led the way with three.

Rockport Townies totaled 18 hits in the game. Segel, Nelson, Alex Webb, Watkins, Maki, Conor Ressel, Jay Fulmer, and Jordan Pallazola each had multiple hits for Rockport Townies.
