Ipswich Chiefs Falls to Rowley Rams After Seventh Inning Score

Monday's game against Rowley Rams was a heartbreaker for Ipswich Chiefs, as they lost the lead late in a 7-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with Rowley Rams batting in the top of the seventh when Lewi Lheureux singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Ipswich Chiefs lost despite out-hitting Rowley Rams 12 to ten.

Rowley Rams fired up the offense in the first inning. Tim Cashman drove in two when he homered.
Ipswich Chiefs evened things up at four in the bottom of the sixth inning when RJ Libby doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Ipswich Chiefs tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Steven Solimeno and a double by Libby.  Dylan Copeland pitched Rowley Rams to victory. He lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and four runs while striking out seven.  Greg Doucette took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out two.

Ipswich Chiefs collected 12 hits on the day. Solimeno, Libby, Corey Greaney, and Chas Rousseau all managed multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Solimeno went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits.

Rowley Rams racked up ten hits on the day. Cashman, J. Cashman, Justin Bolla, and Lheureux each collected multiple hits for Rowley Rams. Cashman led Rowley Rams with three hits in three at bats.
