Ipswich Chiefs Can't Hold Up Against Hamilton Generals

It was a tough day on Monday for Ipswich Chiefs, who lost 14-3 to Hamilton Generals.

Ipswich Chiefs got things moving in the second inning. Will Diezemann singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Hamilton Generals pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third Mark Ruggiero singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Brian Nicoll singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Cam Vatour singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Harrison O'Brien singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Luke Painchaud earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Hamilton Generals. He surrendered three runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.  Caleb Comeau took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He lasted four innings, allowing 15 hits and ten runs while striking out three.
Ipswich Chiefs tallied 12 hits on the day. Comeau, RJ Libby, Greg Doucette, and Diezemann each had multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Libby and Comeau each collected three hits to lead Ipswich Chiefs.

Hamilton Generals had 21 hits in the game. Larry Saggese, Vatour, Brett Harring, O'Brien, Chris Huggett, and Ruggiero each managed multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Hamilton Generals tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. O'Brien led the way with two. Hamilton Generals was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Saggese made the most plays with seven.
