Late Score Costs Rockport Townies Against Ipswich Chiefs

Tuesday's game against Ipswich Chiefs was a heartbreaker for Rockport Townies, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Ipswich Chiefs batting in the top of the seventh when Jake Greaney singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Rockport Townies got things started in the second inning. Rockport Townies scored one run when Marcus Cottone singled.  Greg Doucette was the winning pitcher for Ipswich Chiefs. He lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out eight and walking one.

Dylan Maki took the loss for Rockport Townies. He surrendered two runs on three hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one.  Derek Osmond started the game for Rockport Townies. He allowed seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Rockport Townies launched one home run on the day. Maki had a homer in the third inning.
Cottone led Rockport Townies with two hits in three at bats.  Ipswich Chiefs tallied ten hits on the day. Corey Greaney and Doucette all managed multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Greaney went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits.
