Ipswich picks up the win 10-2 over Topsfield Friday night

Ipswich Chiefs Captures Lead Early to Defeat Topsfield Tories

Topsfield Tories fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-2 loss to Ipswich Chiefs on Friday. Ipswich Chiefs scored on a single by Jake Greaney in the first inning, a triple by Sam Blizard in the second inning, and a home run by RJ Libby in the second inning.

The Topsfield Tories struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Ipswich Chiefs, giving up ten runs.  Ipswich Chiefs opened up scoring in the first inning. Greaney drove in one when he singled.
Ipswich Chiefs scored five runs in the second inning. The big inning for Ipswich Chiefs came thanks to a triple by Blizard and a home run by Libby.

Will Diezemann got the win for Ipswich Chiefs. He lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and two runs while striking out five.  Zack Lamkin took the loss for Topsfield Tories. He lasted seven innings, allowing 16 hits and ten runs while striking out eight.

Topsfield Tories racked up ten hits in the game. Shane Grady, Lamkin, and Jack Sorenson each racked up multiple hits for Topsfield Tories. Sorenson, Lamkin, and Grady each collected two hits to lead Topsfield Tories.

Ipswich Chiefs totaled 16 hits. Libby, Greaney, Greg Doucette, Blizard, Caleb Comeau, and Chas Rousseau each had multiple hits for Ipswich Chiefs. Libby went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits. Ipswich Chiefs didn't commit a single error in the field. Steven Solimeno had the most chances in the field with six.
