Hamilton Generals Drops Game to Beverly Giants After Late Score

Hamilton Generals lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat to Beverly Giants on Monday. Beverly Giants was down 4-3 in the top of the fifth inning when Mike Macdonald tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Beverly Giants got things moving in the first inning. Andy Brown singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Hamilton Generals evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Cam Vatour singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

After Beverly Giants scored one run in the top of the sixth, Hamilton Generals answered with one of their own. Beverly Giants scored when Brian Chirco singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Hamilton Generals then answered when Dan Cashman induced Harrison O'Brien to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Cashman earned the win for Beverly Giants. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Luke Painchaud took the loss for Hamilton Generals. He allowed eight hits and six runs over six innings, striking out five. Matt Herlihy started the game for Beverly Giants. He surrendered five runs on eight hits over five innings .

Hamilton Generals collected nine hits on the day. O'Brien, Brett Harring, and M Andre all collected multiple hits for Hamilton Generals. Andre, Harring, and O'Brien each collected two hits to lead Hamilton Generals. Hamilton Generals didn't commit a single error in the field. Henry Eagar had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Beverly Giants collected nine hits. Brown and Chirco each collected multiple hits for Beverly Giants. Brown led Beverly Giants with three hits in four at bats.
