Ipswich Chiefs Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Ipswich Chiefs fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 16-3 loss to Rockport Townies on Monday. Rockport Townies scored on a single by Jordan Pallazola in the first inning, a single by Kyle Nelson in the first inning, a error in the second inning, a error in the second inning, a single by Pallazola in the second inning, and a fielder's choice by Nelson in the second inning.

The Ipswich Chiefs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Rockport Townies, giving up 16 runs.  Rockport Townies fired up the offense in the first inning, when Pallazola singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Rockport Townies scored six runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Rockport Townies came thanks to singles by Keady Segel and Alex Webb, a walk by Ethan Tanson, a triple by Nolan Webb, and a double by Nelson.

Mackenzie Quinn pitched Rockport Townies to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out five and walking zero. Ryan Webb threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jake Greaney took the loss for Ipswich Chiefs. He allowed 14 hits and 12 runs over four and a third innings, walking one.

Sam Blizard went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ipswich Chiefs in hits.  Rockport Townies collected 21 hits on the day. Webb, Caleb Tanson, Webb, Nelson, Nick Scatterday, Conor Douglass, and Pallazola each collected multiple hits for Rockport Townies.
